almost 27 weeks

Hello!

Lucy is getting big and much more active! Consequently, I'm also getting big an my activities are becoming a bit more limited, along with my range of motion and ability to get up quickly, lol. Nate insists that I don't look pregnant at all from behind, but I still feel ginormous! The most depressing thing happened...my hands swelled up so much that I have to now wear my wedding rings on a chain around my neck. Sad day. My mom insists that I'll be able to wear them again within days of delivery, so that's good news.

Nate and I are busy budgeting out how to get the rest of the things we need for our baby. It's exciting to watch our house fill up with baby things...we now have a bouncy seat (compliments of my mom), a swing (compliments of my aunt) and now we have a pack n play (compliments of Nate's parents)! We also have lots of cute baby clothes coming in from all sides of the family! :) Lucy's Auntie Andrea made her the cutest little booties I've ever seen!  So many cute little girl things! I am working on the nursery...mostly just clearing things out since it has been a storage room since we moved in. It's coming along. My mom is making a rug to match the crib set we are getting. My sister is going to make Lucy a quilt out of the same materials too. :D The list of things we're working on getting include the crib, crib bedding, travel set (car seat and stroller), and a nicer camera, and maybe a changing table.

Well, that's all for now! :)

23 weeks!

Hello!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...it's been a little crazy. I'm now 6 months pregnant and a lot has changed. Since the last post I left my job...it wasn't working out, I found out that we're having a GIRL! :) and her name is Lucy, and we moved back to Wilmore. It's been more than enough to keep me busy, lol. I'll post pics of the new house soon, and the ever expanding baby bump. It's getting very round but it's still lower...I guess that's just how I'm going to carry.

Lucy is very active. It feels like she is a dancer in there! Just two nights ago, when I laid down to go to bed, she started kicking hard enough that Nate could feel it on the outside of my belly. He had felt her slowly move before, but these were the first kicks that I wasn't the only one feeling! It was exciting. We have our first two pieces of baby furniture too! We got a bouncy seat (with vibrations) on sale, and my Aunt Shannon bought our swing!

In other news: I"M AN AUNT!!!! I have THE cutest niece ever. She's absolutely gorgeous and perfect. It's so exciting to watch my sister with her little girl...she's such a miracle. It's even more exciting to watch them together on Skype and know that in 3 1/2 months, I'll have my own real life baby doll. :)

Love,
Jodie and Lucy

In recent news...

Well, I'm almost at 14 weeks now. I got to hear the Baby's heartbeat yesterday. It was so exciting! Gush gush gush gush gush.... lol. The doctor said it sounds completely perfect!
And my Baby-bump is growing!
<---------

From some angles I really look preggo, but others I still don't look like I'm showing. The bump is definitely there, but it's not very big in comparison to my body. But it won't be long until everyone will instantly be able to tell what (or who, rather) is going on inside my tummy!

I keep trying to imagine what life is going to be like once I'm a Mommy, but it's really hard to imagine right now. It's not the Baby part that's so hard to imagine...I've had tons of experience with babies and what not, and I have a really good idea how much work they are...it's everything else that seems to suddenly be up in the air. Where will we be living? What jobs will we have? Will I be working? Those are the ones I'd like to know the answer to. If I got to pick, we'd be living in a cute little house with a fenced in yard, and our business will have taken off to the point where I could stay home and spend every moment getting to know and watch this amazing Baby I'm carrying...at least until Baby starts school.

In other news....*drum roll please*....I'm becoming a Mary Kay lady! Haha, I never thought this would happen, however I have always liked the idea of a pink cadillac! One of my close friends, Jen, has been selling Mary Kay for a while now, and I make my occassional purchases of satin hands(my fav!) and makeup from her. She asked me if I could meet with she and her overseeing person...I dont' know the MK terms yet...to help her get points for her own training. I was more than happy to be treated to breakfast and talk cosmetics, and low and behold, they actually talked me into it! Just getting my own products for such a great discount alone will be worth it, and if I can earn a little extra cash at the same time, that's awesome! So...I'll have my own website up and running soon for my Mary Kay business! :) Nate is going to be doing more of the work with our Melaleuca business now so that I can take on Mary Kay. So if anyone needs any cosmetics or natural products, you know who to contact! ;)

I still have to take baby's most recent picture somewhere to scan it to get a digital image...my scanner will NOT work and I can't figure it out. So it's coming soon, and it's such a cute picture!

Well, that's enough pregnant lady ramblings for today! Lots of Love!

For the long distance aunties...

So... it's true. I'm expecting. And the baby has 3 wonderful aunts who are all unfortunately a couple states away, thus this blog. Andrea suggested I start a blog, so here it is! I'll post pictures and stories as they come. Baby is supposedly 8 weeks gestation, but I have another ultrasound a week from tomorrow to try to confirm how far along we are since baby has been giving out contradicting information. Already a joker like Mommy...uh oh! We're really in for it if this kid is already playing practical jokes while I'm only 2 months pregnant with him/her. We've got a boy name and a girl name picked out already...I'll talk to Nate and see when we want to tell. :) HINT: they're both famous redheads...and saints.

My sister, Jackie, is due to have her first baby, a little girl named Adelaide on September 14th. I am going to be a long distance Auntie myself. I can't wait to meet her! She'll be 5 months older than her little cousin. She's gonna be too cute! I have a big bag of Adelaide stuff accumulating. Now if it would just hurry up and be September....my birthday on the 10th and meeting my niece by the 14th! Oh yeah, and Nate's birthday on the 18th, lol. Can't forget that!!!

Well, I've gotta go! I'm gonna go swimming with my friend, Kat! Hooray!
